Fat Kid Rules the World by K.L Going (7 out of 10)

Troy is an unhappy and overweight teen whose life changes when he meets punk rocker/homeless Curt. This is another YA book that I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters were well done and the first person humor helped keep the book from taking a preachy tone. I've heard that this book is supposed to be some kind of tribute to dead rocker Curt Cobaine but I don't think it changes how I feel about it. This book tells the Troys of the world the value of facing our fears.
